About Sarah

Sarah Rockwood was born in Papua New Guinea, raised in Canada, and shaped by a lifelong obsession with stories that walk the line between the beautiful and the brutal. Trained in theatre and voice since childhood, she has spent her life creating across stage, song, and page.

She's a multi-published author of dark, emotionally immersive fiction — known for heroines who reclaim themselves one battle at a time. Queer, cinematic, and fiercely feminine, her work explores transformation through shadow and sovereignty. Her writing and music have appeared in film, television, and in the hands of readers around the world.

When she's not writing, she's scoring her next album or losing herself in the beautiful, brutal films that feed the work. She lives on the water in the Thousand Islands of Ontario, where the skies are enormous and the winters are dark - just the way she likes it.

Her goal as a writer is not to show you the way out — but to walk beside you while you remember how to burn.
